Style: Industrial Modern The Embassy is just one of many garden apartment complexes that popped up in the 1960s, sharing green spaces and resort-like pool areas. Mr. Lauer took the interior drywall down to reveal CMU block and steel I-beams, and pulled up the carpet to expose concrete not only downstairs, but also on the second floor. The master bathroom was extended to create a softer spa-like galley. A floating soffit over the dining table area buffers the chic industrial vibe.
