Case Study: The Bachelor Settles Down, Medlock West, during the 2016 Modern Phoenix Week Miles McDermott describes the apartment as one bed, two baths, and one brothel — which you must see to believe. This swank and affordable time capsule has been lovingly protected by a starving artist on a student’s budget. Original bathroom butterfly tile and fixtures, stove, and popcorn ceilings all anchor this young collector’s
dumpster diving and estate-sale scouring treasures. The fridge was refurbished, replacing a contemporary model. The faux wood paneling is not an original finish, but adds a bit of whimsy to the living room. Shortly after being featured on our tour, style blog Curbed picked up Miles' story, as did the Arizona Republic. His goal is to purchase and restore other midcentury homes back to their original glory.
