Modern Phoenix Week 2019 + Tour of Ralph Haver Homes
Wishmeier Residence
Neighborhood: Janet ManorArchitect: Ralph Haver AIA
Year: 1956
Kitchen Remodel: DIRTT
This Town and Country home has been extensively remodeled. The first thing you might notice is that the patio-port is enclosed, and now holds a bonus room. The front door faces out front where the entruy gate would have been, instead of tucked deeper inside the patioport.
The front yard has also been enclosed, capturing more privacy. Part of the common area has been opened up and a diagonal slice through two volumes now dictates the design. The kitchen and bathrooms have both been updated by DIRTT with modular and sustainable prefab cabinetry.
Developer Fred E. Woodworth started both Janet Manor and Town and Country Manor projects around the same time, and these homes were priced several thousand dollars higher than their sisters in Town and Country near McDowell Road, possibly due to customization.
