Modern Phoenix Week 2019 + Tour of Ralph Haver Homes
McCallum Residence
Neighborhood: Kensington TerraceArchitect: Ralph Haver AIA
Design/Build: Adam McCallum
Year: 1949
Web: houzz.com/pro/mcmcdesignaz
Kensington Terrace is a tiny development of only 12 homes built in the early 1950s. This home’s modest footprint was expanded by Harry Youngkin, one of Haver’s employees who lived next door. A few Haverly touches have been recently added, including the clerestory window near the carport, knockout CMU block screen walls and wood framed floor to ceiling windows in the addition. The mahogany wood panels and overall design of the kitchen, done by Adart Design LLC, is inspired by California’s Eichler homes. Much of the furniture is vintage, including pieces sourced by local dealers such as Modern Manor, Zinnia’s and Red Modern. Landscape is by Modland Design and contracting by Growland LLC.
