What is the deadline?

Submit your concept by midnight Friday March 25th for consideration. All vendor payments must be received by 5 pm on Monday March 28 to facilitate layout planning.

What happened to the Modern Phoenix Expo?

The Marketplace IS the old Expo. Just rebranded with more time between talks to give vendors more facetime, and focus more on shopping. In early years vendors were not allowed to sell products, now rules have relaxed. Much of the general structure remains the same: architecture tours in the morning, research workshop to kick things off, then three presentations to follow. Door prizes around 4 pm are a highlight. What are the demographics?

Lots of couples and young families, both traditional and non, aged 26 - 60, upper to middle income, mostly homeowners. View our highlight reel on YouTube from 2015 and see the previous marketplace event pages for a good idea of who to expect here, here and here and here.

How big is my booth?

10X10 or 10X20 depending on what you paid for. Some spaces nestle up against unique architectural features which make 10X10 a challenge, so an equivalent measurement is given. You will be asked for your consent if your space is not exactly square.

Can I be an "exclusive" vendor, meaning the only one of my kind?

We do not make exclusive arrangements and cannot guarantee whether or not another vendor with similar products and services will apply. You may request to not be placed next to another vendor once the exhibitor list is released if you like. We must know your preference one week before the event.

Can I choose my own booth location?

No, but the space planners will take your suggestions in consideration. Due to the volume of requests it is possible that not all requests can be honored to the letter. For example, endcaps are in limited supply. If you prefer not to be placed near a vendor of similar services, please let us know up to one week before the event.

How creative can I get with my display?

Pretty darn creative. We've seen full blown landscape installations, a portable little house, entire room vignettes, fire displays, huge sculptures, you name it within reason and city code. If your display is extra creative, clear it with us first. You may also blur lines with your fellow vendors to create more flowing and coherent spaces with their consent. You will be provided with your neighbor's email addresses to collaborate if desired.

Do you provide space dividers or drapes?

No. You are encouraged to bring your own dividers or collaborate with your neighbors to create a flow between spaces. The back wall of Group D is ice-blue glass with full lighting and the back wall of Group A is a dark purple with a bit of an overhang, better for lighting displays that require drama. Group B is freestanding and displays MUST be accessible from at least two sides; there is no "front" or "back". <img src=

Above all, have fun with your display and make sure to promote your presence using your own marketing networks! We will of course promote using email, print, kjzz.org and social media, but if all 20 of us are doing the same we're sure to have a bigger turnout.
