Tours of the David Wright House Featuring Ceramic Sculpture by Jun Kaneko
Friends of Modern Phoenix were invited to experience the
David and Gladys Wright House as it hosted large scale ceramic sculpture by internationally acclaimed artist Jun Kaneko.
Kaneko's "Capturing the Scent of Rain" was a one-time, site-speficic installation featuring large ceramic
dangos using a special blue glaze that the ceramicist been developing over the years.
Preservation architect Victor Sidy guided small groups through the restoration progress on the Wright House.
Susnset did not disappoint!
Many used the Wright House as a site for expressing themselves with our MiniMaterials creativity contest.
No matter now many times you visit the historic home that Frank Lloyd Wright designed for his son, there's always something different to see and a new way of looking at it.
It takes dozens and doznes of volunteers to pull off Modern Phoenix Week. Thanks to everyone who hosted tours all week long!
