The Abrams Building at 44 West Camelback on the Modern Phoenix Home TourThis 16-foot wide fin of a building has an unusual perpendicular orientation to the street, striking vertical blades and truly rare waffle roofline. It has always housed small businesses, but is now being redeveloped by Venue Projects to be more attractive for contemporary and creative clients. Guests on the tour saw the future plans drawn up by John Douglas, vintage photography of the original color scheme, and enjoyed the lush (but wet!) view of Uptown World from four stories up. A pop-up gallery for The Improbably Perfect World of Jane Karl was also on display courtesy of the AZ State Archives.
