The Modern Phoenix Expo 2012
Our bustling Modern Marketplace on the light-flooded floor of the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts atrium was the ideal venue to find new goods and services related to Modernism, architecture, interior design, home renovation, historic preservation, landscape design, furniture design, and jewelry. Over 20 exhibitors set up booths, and five free slide shows and seminars kept the traffic steady all day.

Allan Wright Green debuted his first book talk about "Building the Pauson House", an intimate peek into the correspondence between client and architect.

"Words on Fire: The Letters of Rose Pauson and Frank Lloyd Wright" is a one-act play faithfully based on the colorful correspondence between client and architect featured in the book "Building The Pauson
House: The Letters of Frank Lloyd Wright and Rose Pauson". The dialogue runs briskly from passion to animosity with a wit, cadence and thoughtfulness rarely spoken today. "Words on Fire" was debuted by actors Suzanne Pullen and John Genette at a presentation by Allan Wright Green during the Modern Phoenix Expo 2012 at Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art.

Workshop leader John Jacquemart reaches into his magic bag for a door prize at the "Research Your Midcentury Modern Home" seminar.

Alison King chats with volunteer and future door prize winner Susie Fishleder, who walked away with an adorable felt-and-button necklace.

Attendees eagerly await the free door prize drawings. About 1000 visitors come each year to the Expo workshops and talks, many traveling from as far away as Canada, Chicago and New York.
