We were excited to find your post titled "Pueblo Bonita and Pasadena Heights Area" In it, you provide several photos of Haver duplexes on Glenrosa Ave. One of the duplexes pictured (which is actually a triplex) is a property that my husband and I will be closing on in a couple of weeks!
On another note, we are exstatic about becoming "parents" of Haver triplets! You would not believe the condition of 2 of the units; they are like walking into wonderful time capsules from 1964! (Unfortuantely one of the units needs major renovation.)There have been very few modifications to the interiors or exterior over the years and Haver's brilliance shines through, especially in the half circular kitchens.
In the next several weeks, will be working on our renovation "wish list" in order to bring the units to the rental market.
Are there fellow Modern Phoenicians out there that have experience renovating Havers for the rental market versus personal use
How much do you leave true to the original design, versis change out to be more in line with today's tastes (i.e. wood paneling)?
Any thoughts or experience successfully navigating these decisions would be greatly appreciated.
[u]We will be gathering quotes and ideas from trades people this weekend if anyone would like to stop by and chat or offer services.
The address is 3741 E. Glenrosa Ave. just north of Indian School Rd. between 36th and 38th St. The unit we'll be in is off the street, behind the red brick duplex-- it is the separate unit just north of the back alley. If you'd like to call ahead, just call Shannon's phone at 480-619-0015. PLEASE DO NOT DISTURB THE TENANTS IN THE FRONT DUPLEX.
I've aded several current interior shots so you can get the flavor of each of the apartments.
We hope to hear from any one who canoffer some help.
Thanks in advance!
Shannon
