Metal Clad Fascia

I am new here, and I know there is already a metal sticky thread but I'm interested in knowing how to go about cladding my roof fascia with some type of metal. Do I go to a metal place or a roofer? Is there any terminology I should know? Is this a job I can DIY, if so what tools do I need? Etc. I'm very new to old home ownership and am slowly convincing myself (and my husband) that we may be able to fix up our place on our own with enough guts and information (because we are young and broke). I appreciate any feedback you all have. I've seen some of the fascia in the Paradise Gardens neighborhood near me. and it looks amazing! I've been lurking on the site for a while now and am confident this is the place to start my journey!

I've looked at this as well, and think the gauge and material size will in part dictate the attachment method. Do you have a 2x6 fascia? A relatively thin gauge could be bent at 90° into an "L" shape, and screwed into the fascia board from below. I'm sure there are even some adhesives which could help keep it in place. I imagine your goal is to avoid any visible screws/nails/etc for a cleaner look. As you get beefier in gauge I imagine you'll have to beef up your attachment method, which would likely involve welding appropriate brackets to the metal for attachment to the fascia.

Any pics for a visual? I'm sure there's someone on here who's actually done this and could talk in more than hypotheticals

United Aluminum on Indian School has aluminum fascia covers. They looked ok and could work but I have a feeling it isn't what you are going for. It's worth a shot though.

Col I'll check united Aluminum out. I really don't what I want yet till I see it really. To answer your question
JDL: it's 2x10 fascia boards. and yes hiding seams and attachments would be preferable. Here is a pic
