Mid-Century Photo Shoot Location

Hi everyone!

I have been a member of Modern Phoenix for two years and recently moved to Tucson from Phoenix, where I lived for 13 years. I have just opened a Tucson boutique called black cat vintage that is a retail homage to all clothing mid-century, and am working on a new e-commerce web site to promote it.

One of the most important parts of the site, my home page, will require a photo shoot for which I am desperately seeking a Tucson location. I am looking for an ultra mid-century home with a very Palm-Springs-circa-1962 back yard--preferably with an outdoor patio and pool--around which I can artfully arrange several dress forms featuring some of my most beautiful items. You know, something that looks like the Hotel Valley Ho in Scottsdale. (Tall order, I know.)

Ironically, there were literally dozens of such locations in Phoenix (including the Valley Ho), but I would really like to find a local venue that highlights Tucson, if possible.

Do any of you know of someone with such a home here in the "old pueblo" who might be willing to let me borrow their back yard in exchange for a photo credit on my site?

Any leads are appreciated, as I am currently empty-handed. Thank you so much!

Check out their Modern 50 for some commercial properties that might fit the bill. Not sure how much residential is in there.

Hi there was a great mid century house . that has since sold....go to http://www.the Tuson Foothills/John Scheinder check out the Feb 12, 2010 blog

The house is located at 4920 N. Camino Real..It had a great pool area, but I think construction has begun..so who knows.

There is also a Cliff May home in the area

So where is the Cliff May house near Camino Real. I love the house on Camino Real. I almost bought it but the timing was not right. I regret it. The house just sits there now. The owners messed it up by painting the stucco before selling it but that is easily fixed. Anyway. Would love to know where the Cliff May house is.

There are photos of the Tucson Cliff May in the newish book on him:Cliff May and the Modern Ranch House by Daniel P. Gregory, Joe Fletcher, and Joel Silver. No idea where it is but maybe some clues could be found in the photos... & BTW you purple nickel folks must live right around the corner from me. I checked out your sandblasting pics & the house design looks way familiar!
