Executive Tower pool renovation questions?

Does anyone know the details of the imminent total pool demolition/renovation at Executive Towers? Will it be consistent with the original pool design which would make it possible for this landmark property to obtain Historic Status in 2014? The owners of units in this building could then be able to receive substantial property tax reductions as well as possible grants for future maintenance? Time is of the essence since a permit has already been applied for at the city. Many thanks for any assistance you can provide that will help to preserve this wonderful Al Beadle, mid-century, multiple housing, high rise building (160 units) and sensational pool.

I dont know the answer to your question, but I recently called the city to inquire about the grants/tax deduction application for historic homes. The deadline with the city already passed (sometime this month) and I was told it will not be available again for 15-18 mos. Maybe this is enough of a time delay for this project, but for my Beadle it was not.

Executive Towers was completed in 1964, so will not be eligible for historic designation until 2014. As such the tax reduction for historic properties is not at issue right now. I don't know much about the pool renovation, but dearly hope that it will not materially alter the character of the pool area.

How is it that your crane company is authorized to make 30 minutes of ruckus at 3:00 in the morning? I can't imagine that your tenants are very happy about the noise this early in the morning either. I'm pretty sure that if they are even just picking up a crane, if they make that much noise, it needs to be done within certain working hours, No?
