suggestions for hotel / vacation rental

I feel bad asking as we lived in Tucson for 10 years...but we it was before we were modern.

Are there any hotels or vacation rentals that are modern? We're going down for 3-4 days in Aug/Sept. and everything I've found has been pretty standard 'spanish colonial' or just hotel-ee.

Would prefer to keep it around $100-$150 night max.

Ok, turns out there is ONE modern rental in Tucson at the Barrio Metalico

However, it is booked through September, and you have to rent a week at a time.

We're going to take a chance and stay at a non-modern, but to quote the phrase 'architecturally unique' property - Anna's Bottle House - out by the AZ Sonora Desert Museum. It's kind of in the middle of nowhere, but we couldn't resist...looks sort of Soleri-esque

The website says 'pets ok', and one review referenced that the owner has dogs - but we are probably going sans doggies on this trip.

Totally cool choice, I would stay there in a heartbeat ! Seems like the same vibe as the Mystery Castle. You'll have to post pics and a review upon your return. BTW, love your doggie's names

Turns out the bottle house has lots of bottles...but no air conditioning.

Yeah, Tucson is cooler in the summer, but 100 degrees is still hot and a swamp cooler when it's 30% humdity?

We'll stay there in October or November.
