Another sign of the Apocalypse, but you'd not believe how many new people Facebook has put Modern Phoenix in touch with already in a few days.



I also started a Facebook PAGE for Modern Phoenix Home Tour and for fans of Modern Phoenix. You know I don't need the personal validation in being fanned, however I would be greatly appreciative if you are a Facebook User to fan the Modern Phoenix Page and Friend the Modern Phoenix account in order to create as much viral outreach as we can before April's event. We need all the outreach we can get in this economy. Already I have found it to be very helpful in reaching out to new readers who may be too busy or intimidated to join our message boards. There's a Wall there where you can blurt out to the community if you don't feel like posting over here. If you are not already a member of Facebook, its a harmless (read: incrementally addicting) way to blow off some steam each day.

I want to thank all of you who helped get the Modern Phoenix Facebook campaign off to a solid start. It reminds me of 4 or so years ago when I was asking folks to sign up on our virginal message boards -- and a brave and willing few took that first step to help us reach critical mass. I'm truly grateful.

Why would you want to fan Modern Phoenix when you participate on these boards regularly?

1) New content, that's why! Already Ryan has posted links to his Facebook Photo Gallery of the Marlen Grove remodel -- WAY more photos than he did here! And I found a cool link from Yuri about social media, and spooky cool dance videos from Nancy.

2) Get to know the faces behind the names. Like JC's witticisms on the boards? You'll love his photography of downtown Scottsdale.

3) Influence others to move in a similar direction, with thoughtful dialogue. SO MANY people in Phoenix have heard of Modern Phoenix but never bothered to join the boards. Being visible on Facebook is outreach LITE, already integrated into social media people already use every day.
