kamado is here - at the home show!

Postby michaelv on Fri Sep 22, 2006 4:13 pm

For those of you interested in the kamado bbq, the company is at the Maricopa County Home Show this weekend at the fairgrounds. In my 5th year of being an owner of a #7, I can testify to this BBQ -it is the best bar none. they are cooking and it will be goooood!

Dune Barbeque - cast aluminium portable barbeque

Postby hectoracuna on Tue Nov 14, 2006 6:43 pm

"Picture the scene:

You're nestled in a sheltered hollow in the dunes, sand running between your toes as you run your hands through your lovers hair. The setting sun is laying a soft golden glow amongst the evening shadows, the better to illuminate this moment of sensual perfection.
But by gum you're hungry!"

With a pitch like that!! It's worth look.

That is the stubbiest barbecue fork I ever saw. You might as well use a screwdriver! :-D

garrett-wade has carried the older version for years and i have always been curious about them. last winter a guy had one on his tailgate at the festival-of-lights parade. i chatted him up and he was wildly enthusiastic about it but said it you do have to keep feeding in wood fairly regularly which is sort of a hassle but not that big of a deal with the bbq-fork cum grill-lifter.

it seems a well thought out system. although i am a firm believer in the powers of convection ;) i have wondered about building a hand-cranked or bellows model. i can also imagine something like the concrete kickwheel under a potter's throwing wheel, just spin it once to get 60 seconds of blower.

You could also just use a solar attic fan.
